Pre-phylloxera Madeira of an exceptionally good vintage, matured in oak casks for more than 60 years before being put into bottles. 1846: Mexican–American War: The United States declares war on Mexico. The Saxophone is patented by Adolphe Sax, a Belgian musical instrument designer and musician who played the flute and clarinet. He is well known for having invented the saxophone.
