The cellars of the famous Maxim's Restaurant at the Rue Royale in Paris offer this Cognac from the period of Napoleon Bonaparte, the French military and political leader who rose to prominence during the French Revolution. As Napoleon I, he was Emperor of the French.

The style of the bottle reflects the era. 1811 was regarded at the time as the greatest vintage in living memory, and is now universally held to be the finest vintage of the 19th century throughout the vineyards of Western Europe Provenance
