Roullet was founded in 1780 and was amongst the first to sell cognac in glass bottles in Paris. Paul Frederic Roullet became one of the suppliers of the armies of Bonaparte and Napoleon. The grandson of James Delamain, named Anne-Philippe Delamain, brought the company Delamain back together with two of his cousins from the Roullet family. Hence, the name of the cognac house changed to Roullet & Delamain.
